About the
American-Georgian Academy of Sciences
Whereas, in
pursuance of the vote and proceeding of the Academy to change the academy name thereof from the "
American Academy of Sciences in Georgia" to " The American-Georgian Academy of
Sciences" the Court of the Saburtalo County of Tbilisi to legalize and authorize to
change the name of the Academy 1998, February 18.
The American-Georgian Academy of Sciences
(AGAS) is an independent, non-for-profit committed to serving science, technology, and
society. The Academy's initiatives include disseminating scientific information,
protecting the human rights of scientists, and applying science and technology to achieve
social and economic goals. It is an international organization. Membership is open to
professionals, and all interested members of the
public. The AGAS headed by Professor Guram Adamashvili
is composed of individual members
involved in the various disciplines of science,
engineering and technology and continuing professional development.
