International Student Advising Center
ISAC (International Student Advising Center) was established in 1995. The main goal of the Center is to provide Georgian Students and professionals with information about study possibilities abroad, scholarships and fellowships in the East, Central and Western Europe, United States and NIS.
 
ISAC - International Student Advising Center of the "Open Society - Georgia Foundation" is the part of the network of Educational Advising Centers with U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and strives to provide current, accurate, comprehensive and unbiased information on educational opportunities in the United States of America.
  
ISAC provides information about SOROS sponsored scholarships, different short and long term programs and various summer schools for students, University teachers and  researchers.
 
ISAC offers group and individual advising session for the  students, training seminars, movie  nights with discussions, Internet access at the INTERNET classes in Tbilisi as well as in  Kutaisi, Batumi  and Telavi at the ISAC branch offices. The  sessions are provided by the volunteer lecturers and advisors free of charge.
 
ISAC held about 20 different educational, scientific and short/long term training programs and summer schools annually.
 
ISAC has supported organizationally or financially about 500 applicants and ten times more with the advice and consultations either individually or in-group sessions during 5years (1995-2000).
 
ISAC’s main achievements is to spread its activities in the regions of Georgia In 2000-2001 two students from Kutaisi are accepted to UEP, two students from Batumi to AUBG, one scholar got the grant for FDF from Batumi, one scholar got the grant for Oxford  Hospitality Scheme,several of them attended sessions for CRC and CDC. That proves the necessity of regional branches.
 
ISAC has about 60 visitors per day and the same amount of telephone queries. The lectures are  attended by 30 students on each topic.Every year the ISAC has the grant from USIA. 
 
ISAC keeps in touch with its alumni and alumni club is on its way for establishing.
